→ movable type subdomains

It is possible to have more than one Movable Type installation on a server; each installation would have its own set of installation files and configuration, and a separate database.

It is possible that you don't actually require a separate installation, if your ultimate aim is simply to publish to a domain and a subdomain. Whether this will be possible will depend on how your server and domains are configured. Movable Type, with the correct permissions set on the server, should be able to publish to any directory with your hosting account. Assuming your hosting plan allows you    to use multiple domain names and subdomains within a single account on the server, but associating a domain with a particular directory, then you should be able to configure a Movable Type installation to publish a certain weblog to that particular directory, and the associated URLs.

So for example, if you set one weblog to pubish to (for example) /home/username/public_html/ where this is the web directory for domainone.com, then you would be able to access the weblog at http://www.domainone.com/ If the server was configured so that /home/username/public_html/domaintwo/ was associated with domaintwo.com, then you would be able to access the weblog  published to this location on the server at the URL http://www.domaintwo.com/ (and possibly also http://www.domianone.com/domaintwo/ ).

Is this how your multiple domains are set up on this server? Are you able to access the different root directories for each domain within the same FTP account? Or are each hosted seperately (though on the same server), or on different servers completely? You may want to check with your webhost if this is set up is possible for you, if not.
